Searching for bad 80's TV.

Pardon me as I publicly humiliate myself here.

Would any of you know how or where to get the collections of BJ and the Bear or Sheriff Lobo on DVD? My google-foo reveals a lot of schlocky looking companies that I wouldn't trust my pet rock to.

Anyone? I need my bad 80's TV fix.

Dont do it!

I've been down this road. Don't pop that sexy nostalgia bubble. There's a naiveness that you had while watching them back then that said - 'These are awesome'. I tried this with Greatest American Hero, which for me at the time was funny and cool, and now looks like a steamy pile of fetid wank.

But if its all about masturbation material - go for it. :)

I actually just watched the pilot episode of BJ and the Bear that someone bought for me a long time ago. I enjoyed it just as much as back then.

I think I'm safe on this one. :-)

I wouldn't buy from those places either.. Maybe it would be easier to find them on video and then use a video-to-DVD converter program? the quality wouldn't be as good, obviously.

I couldn't find anything on VHS either. :-(

well, not online, anyway. Someone probably has them in a thrift store somewhere.

PS
I'll look at the mega truckstop up the road...

Other options on the Internetz

I don't think it is available online, but thought that a search of Hulu (http://www.hulu.com/) might yield some other results you hadn't thought of, as I found episdoes of Starsky & Hutch for free on IMDB (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0072567/)

I tried Hulu, and I even tried the torrent sites. Nothing! I can't be the only one!

The Retro Television Network (http://www.myretrotv.com/) is playing Sheriff Lobo. There are affiliated stations in your region, but I don't think there's anything close enough that you might be able to get.

This site seems legit, according to stuff I read on the intarwebz.

Also this.

Ah, 80's TV.

I have a weird urge to see the BJ episode with the vampire, as far as that goes.

You were totally a rebel trucker in a past life

Every time I go to the WFMU Annual Record Fair, I see vendors selling Retro TV stuff of all sorts of American programs. Their vaults range from B/W TV from the 50's on up.
Honey West, and The Rat Patrol, Route 66, The Man From UNCLE, Ben Casey, whew!
Mebbe PW knows how to get in contact with them when they're not on 18th Street at the Record Fair.
Good luck!

See, my "Paper Chase" flashbacks are not as guilty a pleasure as I thought!

Don't know if you ever found it - but I buy at www.DeepDiscount.com all the time and they tend to have 80's stuff
